Here are some reasons why your skincare routine might fail!
The journey to having a smooth and flawless skin might seem easy from the outlook, venturing into it comes as a shocker because no one literally prepared you for the break outs in between or the minimal to slow progress you might get once you start because rushing a skincare routine can apparently do more harm than good. And let’s not forget that a number of many factors can hinder your success on this journey hence making it look like it’s a waste of time or others seem to do theirs differently. Sadly, quite a number of skincare therapist are more concerned about making sales from their products rather than doing the actual routine with you some will just chip in some advices here and there. We have highlighted some important reasons why your routine might seem to go the other way round for you!
1. Hygiene matters.
Even if you use the most expensive skin products available, the lack of proper hygiene will stop you from seeing adequate results. Let’s not forget that the skin has pores on them and these pores can get clogged with oil and dirts. Failure to get rid of these factors can cause a break out and even inflammation. Remember that your sleeping sheets, body and face towels as well as clothes play a major role in your hygiene.
2. Your diet can work against you!
Let’s not forget that food, fruits, herbs and spices aren’t just there for hunger reasons alone. What you put into your body will definitely have an effect on your physical appearances too. An improper balance of food as well as omitting fruits can have more disadvantages than satisfying your cravings.
3. Let’s address the use of wrong products!
A lot of people fall under the influence of using skincare products recommended by their inner circle without proper consultation by an actual therapist. Perhaps if they understand the fact that people have different skin types and everything that comes with it, it’ll be easy to stop self recommendations. Just because others are using it with positive effects doesn’t mean it’ll work for you too. Make enquiries first!
4. Skipping the basic rules!
Yes, showering daily(if not twice a day) is the most sought after routine. But, have you forgotten exfoliating, moisturizing or steaming? These routines are important in removing dead cells and rejuvenating the skin too.
5. Environmental factors can be a disadvantage too!
The bottom line, you can do it all right but still have break outs. Why? I know it’s a lot to process but sometimes your environment can be a constraint to your skin. From the rise or drop in temperature levels, weather conditions and water can do more harm than good on your skin and at this point, you can only work on maintaining and ensuring your skin’s comfort till the phase is over.
So the next time you think your skincare routine isn’t working, review these factors and act on it.
Until next time dear reader…
